At Mass this weekend I told you about an opportunity to have a conversation with Deacon Mike Leman about how to process everything going on in our country in a Catholic way. That conversation was scheduled for tomorrow, Monday the 28th. Unfortunately Deacon Mike’s mother passed away recently, and I just learned that her funeral will be tomorrow. So we need to reschedule that conversation, and I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have a new date. In Christ, Fr. Brian
The Women’s Resource Center (Pregnancy Crisis Center) in Gillette will host their fall fundraising banquet Thursday, October 15th at the Cam-Plex Center beginning at 6:30 pm. Parents, please plan to join me on Zoom on Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30 pm to discuss CCD for this coming year. This will be an important meeting to discuss how to proceed with CCD given diocesan restrictions, and some opportunities we have to actually improve our religious education. This meeting is for ALL THREE PARISHES. I'd like as many parents as possible to join, as well as any interested adults. Please click the following link on Wednesday evening to join, and I'll email out the same link again on Wednesday morning via Flocknote. Fr. In the leadup to November's election, and with the violence and protests rocking our country, we will have the opportunity to speak with Deacon Mike Leman, our diocesan legislative liaison, and Joe Wotawa, our diocesan director of Pastoral Formation via Zoom. This will be a valuable presentation to help us process the events in our country and approach them with a Catholic perspective. Our three parishes are scheduled for September 28th from 7-8:30 pm. If you are interested in participating, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KP68H5Z or click the link above to register so Joe can send you the Zoom invitation (and add jwotawa@dioceseofcheyenne.org to your email contacts so the invitation doesn't go to spam). This particular evening is just for our parishes, so there'll be lots of opportunity for discussion, from the comfort of your own home. I hope to see you there! -Fr. Brian
It’s time once again to support our bishop in his annual appeal. While your church asks for your support every single week, your diocese only asks for your support once a year. The annual Living and Giving in Christ campaign supports our bishop’s ministries across the entire diocese, including youth and adult retreats, formation for our seminarians and deacon candidates, ministry to the poor and marginalized, and countless other endeavors. Please be as generous as you can! The goal is $22,289 for Corpus Christi, $17,299 for St. Paul’s, and $5,618 for St. Anthony’s. These goals are established for us by the diocese based off our total income last year, and they represent less than 20% of our income.
Corpus Christi will be partnering with the Women’s Resource Center in NE Wyoming (located in Gillette) to support the Center by filling a baby bottle with a check, cash or change. Baby bottles will be available at the entrance of the church at Masses on Father’s Day June 20th & 21st.
